Comment: This book takes a novel perspective to the epic. It goes into the ‘why’ behind a lot of the stories one might have read earlier. For folks who have not read Ramayana, there is a great primer for context setting. There is an overall logical framework that runs through the whole book. The artwork is also very well done.

It's important because it tells who we are. It's important because it sets us indias apart from the rest of the world, so that we don't have to look for an identity when we face the world. If Ramayana and Mahabharat were not there I am pretty sure the people of India would have been made to believe that they were barbarians before the foreigners came to the land and would never had taken any pride in being who they are.
